The Exmore CMOS sensor and the Bionz XR are used in the construction of the Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Line Camera. It offers quick readout times and a dynamic range of more than 15 stops to produce excellent image quality with a broad sensitivity range. With a base ISO of 800 and an ISO 12800 range, the full-frame sensor and increased ISO sensitivity provide you the flexibility for 4K imagery or low light shooting. The FX6 has a 4K internal recording capability with Full-HD Long-GOP or 4K All Intra compression, 10-bit depth, and 4:2:2 color sampling. The incredible richness of 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling can be recorded directly on the camera, giving you far more options for image grading and post-processing.

At 4K (QFHD) quality, the FX6 can capture at up to 120 frames per second (fps). You have complete control over the captured frame rate with the Slow and Quick (S&Q) modes, allowing for precise motion storytelling and up to a gorgeous 5x Super Slow Motion (24fps output). With a body that is just under 2 lbs less than the FX9 and measures 6 x 4.6″, the FX6 fits a full-frame sensor into a body that is similar to the Sony FS5’s S35 sensor.
